Casablanca Hotels FAQ

The questions travellers ask most when choosing where to stay in Casablanca.

What is the best area to stay in Casablanca?

For first-time visitors, the Corniche in Aïn Diab is the pleasant choice — seafront hotels near the Hassan II Mosque, with restaurants and a breezy promenade. To be central for the Art Deco architecture, the old medina and the train stations, stay in the city centre around Boulevard Mohammed V. Business travellers often prefer the modern districts around the Twin Center.

Is Casablanca worth staying in, or just passing through?

Many travellers use Casablanca as an arrival or departure point, since it has Morocco’s main international airport and fast trains to Marrakech, Fes and Rabat. But a night or two rewards you: the vast Hassan II Mosque is unmissable, the Art Deco and Mauresque architecture is unique in Morocco, and the seafood and city dining are excellent. One or two nights is usually enough.

How do I get from Mohammed V Airport to central Casablanca?

Mohammed V International (CMN) is about 30 km southeast of the city. The easiest budget option is the frequent airport train, which runs to Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port stations in the centre in around 40 minutes. Taxis and ride-hailing are also available; agree the fare or use the meter, and allow extra time in the city’s daytime traffic.

Is Casablanca a walkable city for sightseeing?

The centre around Boulevard Mohammed V and the United Nations Square is walkable for the Art Deco buildings and the old medina, but Casablanca is a big, spread-out city, so you will use taxis or ride-hailing for the Hassan II Mosque and the Corniche. Traffic is heavy in the day; petits taxis are cheap and plentiful for hops around town.
